Tattoos

I don't want a tattoo or anything, but I don't think there's anything wrong with a Christian getting one. At least, from my limited knowledge of the scripture, it doesn't seem like there's anything wrong with it. "What does the Bible say about tattoos? Not a whole lot. There's 1 verse that speaks directly to tattoos, it's found in Leviticus, 19 verse 28. "Do not cut your bodies for the dead, and do not mark your skin with tattoos. I am the Lord." You could say that God is very, very clear and say "You should not have tattoos." Right? Well, to understand this verse, you have to look at the text in the context of what Leviticus 19 was saying as a whole. You see the Israelites had just escaped from Egyptian bondage and passed through the Red Sea and God was telling them, "Don't take on the pagan practices of the Egyptians. When an Egyptian would die, the remaining relatives would often cut into their body to let out what was known as the lifeblood and this was a pagan ritual, God said, "Don't do that". Some would also tattoo on their bodies pictures of pagan gods and again, the one true God said, "Don't you ever do that". If you wanna take Leviticus 19:28 literally, we need to be careful because this was the Old Testament law fulfilled by Christ in the New Testament. Leviticus 19 also tells us don't cut your hair or your beard, it says don't wear clothing with different kinds of material, things that we all do everyday. Leviticus 19, the bottom line, was talking about idolatry, don't take on the pagan practices of the Egyptians."

One person commented, "Yes Christ did satisfy the requirement of the law which was a blameless and pure sacrifice “thank you Jesus” but did He abolish the principles in Lev 19? NO!"

Someone else said he was riding the fence in his answer. What do you think?

Friday morning

Lacey slept all night, thank goodness. We watched 2 episodes of I Love Lucy last night and she wants to watch more this morning! We're watching The Gossip episode now. She said her stomach isn't hurting and she's eating Cheerios now. Watching DVDs of old shows is so much better than watching what's actually on tv. I'm going to work on the weedeater in just a few minutes and then maybe trim the privet hedge and then maybe work on the weeds close to the greenways.

Too Tall Grass

It's never taken me 6 hours to mow the yard before. 2 hours yesterday, 2 hours this morning and 2 hours this afternoon. That's what happens when your mower needs work and it rains so much the grass grows a foot. My lower back is hurting. Not to mention my shoulders from emptying the grass so many times.

Lacey came home from school not feeling well this afternoon. While I was mowing (1 of the many times) she threw up ALL OVER the love seat cushions.

She is asleep now and hopefully for the night. She had a temp of 99.2 a little while ago. I gave her the "behind the ear medicine". I hope she stays asleep all night!

Our place in Kissimmee is awesome. We have 2 separate units connected with a foyer. We have both doors propped open so it's like 1 big unit. We have free wi-fi for 2 days, too.

Fun day at the beach but M&L got sunburned. Lacey on her legs mostly. Molly on her legs and arms. They've been hurting. We've put aloe and lidocaine on them. Tomorrow we leave for Orlando, thank goodness. Oh, and I had a fever blister on the inside-ish of my lip that I could live with but then I felt a tiny one beginning to grow. I called Dr. Howell and they called in Zovirax. I got it and it's working great already. The only thing I don't like about this trip is that we get home so late Sunday night and then bam, we have school and work the next day. But I am thankful for the trip, I really am!

We got peanuts on the plane! I got 3 pkgs. and they rolled them down the aisle during takeoff! It was so funny! She said, "get ready for the peanut roll. If you're on the aisle, you're responsible for getting peanuts for your row. Sure enough, they rolled pkgs. down the aisle! We got the rental van pretty quick and now we're on the road to Ormond Beach.

On plane about to take off! The plane is full. Flight #497. It will take an hour and 25 minutes. Maybe a few bumps on the way down the guy just said. I'm hungry and the guy said only coffee and soft drinks! What? No peanuts? I have a sucker to eat/lick; I guess that will have to do. Can you tell I'm bored. Signing off!

Igle said the spark plug in question is to where we cannot get to it. Since it has started fine both times today hes thinking the "stop leak" stuff he put in must've worked and that it must be a very small leak. He said it could last five years, the guy at auto zone said. So now im going to mow. That is, if the mower will start!

I was supposed to get my cholesterol checked this morning but Lacey was sick in the night so I had to reschedule it. Then I had to get Minnie to come sit with her so I could go look at homeschool material with Molly! Finally home again and now have laundry, dishes, etc.

I swam 15 laps today!

I swam the breaststroke-4 laps in 5:50.
I swam the backstroke-4 laps in 6:40.
I swam the sidestroke-4 laps in 5:20.
I swam with the board, kicking only-3 laps in 4:20.
I couldn't believe I was slowest in backstroke!
I swam more than usualy because I got there about 5 minutes earlier than I usually do. And, since I exit the pool in the area where the deep water aerobics class is going on, I like to get out right when the class starts, which is 9. It is kind of a goal that "makes" me get there early and swim as fast as I can to get in as many laps as possible. Now, if I were to get there at 8, I'd still swim until 9. What a workout that would be! Oooooh, I just love it!

Playing a team that breaks the rules and the refs don't care.

No birds came to eat this morning! I put a piece of 2x4 to raise the level so i could see them better and now they've boycotted me!

It takes me 7 minutes to swim 4 laps (4 different strokes on each lap). Multiply that by 3 and you get 12 laps in 21 minutes!

This is my first post via text! I am about to begin teaching until 6:30.

Only swam 8 laps today!

I only swam 8 laps today because I got there later than I usually do. It feels soooo good in the water that I could stay much, much longer, but I just don't have time! Well, I have the time, but I'd rather be at home! The bad part is that i didn't even go yesterday 'cause I had to take Johnny's car to the vocational school to get the front bumper replaced and go to Wal-Mart and go to Deals.

Snow!

It's been soooooo long since I last posted! We're getting a bunch of snow. Both city and county schools were closed today (Friday) with no snow on the ground!
