Partially Updating My Life!
Well, Sire is at The Players Tournament, so we've had a quiet day. I ate lunch on the way home from church, so I was able to relax within minutes of stepping in the house! It rained almost all day. I'm glad, because the spots we've put grass seed down, needs it. I've been mowing with the blade one notch higher, so it needs to be mowed more often. That's okay with me, of course! And it looks really good after I've mowed it with it not so low.
Our neighborhood yard sale was yesterday. We did so much work and the money goes toward Dollywood in July. I'm sure there were many more things we could've taken out of the house to sell but sometimes it's just not worth it. Sack had a game at noon, so we had to cut it short. However, if we'd stayed another hour we probably wouldn't have made much more money.
My legs have been aching lately. I just don't understand. And I can usually rest for about 20 minutes and the pain goes away and I'm good to go for several more hours. But it's just not happening. Like, when I lie down in bed, I'm changing positions so much waiting for them to feel better that I can't relax and enjoy the coziness of my bed. Also, every now and then, I feel dizzy. Like I'm turning upside down. It's weird. One odd thing happened this morning. I woke up and my left thumb was numb on the side. Really strange. I'm going to the dr. soon for a wellness visit and I'm going to mention all of this. Last year at the wellness visit (my first one with Dr. L.) there was not much accomplished. I googled achy legs and tingling feet and found that sometimes it can be a vitamin B12 deficiency and that's not good. Something about nerve damage if not treated. We'll see. In the meantime, I'm doing everything I've always done.
Speaking of things I've always done, I swam a mile all 4 days last week! It is so much better to push myself and "git'r done"! Even though I had so much going last week, I made myself do it.
Speaking of so much to do last week, the children's musical was last Sunday, so I had the 3 hour rehearsal the Wednesday before last, another 3 hour rehearsal last Saturday, an end of the year group lesson that afternoon, the performance Sunday, last lessons of the year Monday and Tuesday and my recital on Thursday! Oh, and then the yard sale Saturday. After Sack's game and rest time, I vacuumed the van real good because the seats were taken out.
So, today was Mother's Day and most of the day was enjoyable. The 2 girls constant chattering, humming, and singing has really gotten on my nerves. We went for a walk, all 4 of us, while it was sprinkling and got to the house on the corner and then it started raining steady so we walked home. We sat on the front porch for probably 45 minutes and then the 2 girls played ball in the yard while it was drizzling.
As always, I hope to write here again more often.

March Madness
Well, last night our Toppers got beat by the northern blue team. So sad but so proud of our team!
DH and Sire are at the State Tournament until tomorrow evening. Cobb and Sack slept with me in my bed last night. I awoke several times because of Sack touching me. I did NOT swim this morning. Partly because I didn't sleep well, partly because my stomach was hurting a little bit like stomach bug (it wasn't) and partly because it had been storming and I didn't want to be told I had to get out because of thunder/lightning. That happened last week and I had only done 14 laps.
But what I DID do this morning was run around all morning. First, I had to go to the AT&T store to return my new phone. It's my 3rd one to try. Long story, but after I did that, I went to Target to spend the rest of my gift card. I got a scale that also measures body fat, body water (?), and BMI. When I got home, I immediately went online to get the phone that I should've gotten in the first place. Samsung Flight II. Works the same as the one I've had for over 2 years. HOWEVER, it was no longer free as it had been the last few weeks. So, I called the AT&T sales number. He didn't have it for free, either, but suggested Radio Shack or Wal-Mart. BINGO! That was the ticket! I hung up with him and immediately called Wal-Mart and they had it! So, I went there and got it! It works soooo similar to my Impression. Well, I got home and started fiddling with it and cleaning the kitchen and doing laundry. I went to put my micro SD card in it and realized I left it in the phone I returned to the AT&T store! UGH! So, I went BACK OUT to the AT&T store. I got it back as well as got all my contacts from my old phone onto the new phone.
When I got back home, I ate lunch and did my regular daily stuff including getting my phone setup to the computer. After my "rest time", I worked outside. I raised the basketball goal back up, took a bunch of limbs off trees, took down the birdhouse pole and straightened up the base of the pole, put the birdhouse back up, fixed the garage door light, and filled up the hummingbird feeder. I am awesome!

Warm Weather in February!
I was saying recently that I didn't care how big the bugs were in summer or how many weeds grow in the summer, that I wouldn't mind it if it didn't snow or get real cold this winter. And so now, we've had really nice weather! However, I guess I'm paying the price with sinus "issues" going on. Today is Thursday and Monday night I was starting to get stopped up. I didn't swim Tuesday partly because Cobb stayed home from school and partly because I was stopped up and not feeling all that great. It's worse in the morning. Then, yesterday, I didn't go to Moms in Prayer because of the same thing. And I didn't swim today, either! Thankfully I get better as the day goes on.
I lost 3 students this semester and have replaced 1 of them! I have 2 prospects but haven't heard from them. It would be nice if I got them so we don't have to pinch our pennies so hard.
Cobb has musical practice this afternoon and she said she had to speak with an accent; a grandmother accent, a.k.a. an old lady accent. She said she's scared.
Sire has a game tonight. DH is going but Sack has basketball practice so I can't go. Sire's team has been winning! Big change from last year when they didn't win any. Sack has been doing real well with her basketball. She only has a handful of games left and then we'll wait for softball to start.
I've been swimming a mile every single time I swim! And, I don't know if it's just me, but I seem skinnier! My jeans are size 8 and some of my older pairs of jeans seem a little bit big. I just hope I can keep up the swimming and the no-eating-Oreos-before-bed routine. That's a big part of it, too, not eating Oreos. Those things are so bad for you!
I'm thankful for the times I have to sit and write here.

Gotta Update my Studio Policy!
Seriously, that's what it seems like. I'll have a sore on my tongue and a fever blister and both of those cause radiating pain so it's not just raining, it's pouring. Now, I have 3 fewer students than I had in December.
*One student's mom called the day before lessons were to start and said they couldn't continue. She gave a bit of an apology for waiting so long so let me know. But no offer to pay for my loss of income.
*Another student just didn't show up at the first lesson. I usually hear from students' parents if they miss w/o letting me know beforehand. So, after I didn't hear from them, I emailed them and didn't hear back for 5 days! Finally, the mom emailed me and said, "I'll talk to Sally about taking lessons. She's kind of back and forth about taking." Then, another day or so later, she wrote and said they wouldn't be continuing. No apology for the late notice and no apology for the loss of my income!
*The last student on my list did the same as the above student but the mom didn't email me for almost 2 weeks! A bit of an apology for being so late with getting back with me but not much. Of course, she didn't feel bad that I had now lost 3 weeks of income.
So, I say all that to say that I must add to my studio policy the consequences for doing this, as well as quitting lessons in the middle of the semester. Of course, I have several "old" policies already printed, so I'll have to throw them away.
