I went to the dr. this morning and I have strep throat! Thankfully, I don't have a fever, so I don't feel all that bad. My throat is just on fire!
I was listening to Laura Ingraham on the radio on the way home and heard Rick Warren's invocation at the inaguration. It sounded good! I was saying, "That's right" to several things he said. I was wondering what us right wing conservatives would say about it; would they criticize it or compliment it. But then Laura said, "Did you hear that Rick Warren said that Barack Obama is our first African-American president? I didn't know that!" She went on to say that if he hadn't told us, we wouldn't have known. But that's just the way some prayers are. You tell God things He already knows. Laura also said that Aretha Franklin was singing at the inaguration and was wearing a bow as big as the crowd was. I ran in the house and turned on the t.v. and sure enough, she had a huge bow on her hat! Soon after that, Biden took his oath. He spoke his words so good. But then, when Obama said his, he fumbled. Fox News said that maybe Barack isn't really our president because of it. At the luncheon in the capitol, Dr. Barry Black asked the blessing and it was awful. It sounded so stiff and formal. He's the Senate chaplain, I think.
The worst thing about having strep is that I MUST reschedule my 4 students this afternoon until Thursday!

I can't think of what to say

I'm going to try to blog everyday. I read that if you want your blog "found" by people on Google, you need to do it everyday.
Last night, Minnie, Lacey and I went to Nashville to see "Wizard of Oz". We left at 5 and got back at midnight! It was a long night. It was hot in the theater, we brought Lacey's Dorothy wig and red shoes, her basket of Oz characters and my huge purse. Oh, and my camera that I couldn't even use because you'd get in trouble if you took pix! The guy next to me was drinking a Coke and Bacardi (or some type of smelly liquor) and he got another one after intermission. I had a headache on the way home. Lacey slept part of the way down there and most of the way home. When we got home, I tried to pick her up and she was a bear! She and I slept in my bed and Johnny slept in Lacey's bed.
This morning, I slept until 8:00! It felt so good. I tried to get a few things cleaned up/straightened, but I just haven't felt like doing anything. I get SO tired of doing it and then it's all messed up again within hours. Also, our "swivel sweeper" won't work because it won't hold a charge. AND, the Roomba's battery is doing the same thing. It will run for only 20 minutes or so and then say it's done.
Lacey went to a b-day party this afternoon at the skating rink from 2-5. Johnny stayed with her until 3:30 and then I got her at 4:50. She said that no one would walk around with her after Johnny left while she skated, but the truth is that she wouldn't accept anyone's help. So, she was just standing on the side when I got there. I felt so sorry for her! Well, when we got home, she said her throat was hurting. I felt her forehead and it was warm. I took her temp. and it was 100.9! She wasn't acting like she felt that bad except for the throat. So, we're at home and everyone else is at Western's game. I've been wanting to skip a game!
Johnny's SS class is going to see "Tales of Despereaux" tomorrow afternoon. I guess Lacey and I won't even be going to church now. I have to go tomorrow afternoon, though at 4 for a choir/musical meeting. I have a feeling that I won't be directing the musical. We'll see what happens.

I may have gotten the comments to work, I don't know. I can't even remember now how I did it.
Lacey woke up yesterday with a fever and sore throat. The temp. got pretty high. I didn't rush her to the dr. like I usually do because she usually feels better when we get home and I feel it was money and time wasted. So, the temp. was 102 this morning and she had a weird rash as well as a worse sore throat. She tested positive for strep. Also, the "rash" is called scarletina. It's a protein that the body produces when strep is present in the body. She said it hurt and the dr. said it might get worse and maybe itch. Right now it's better but is still sensitive. She started feeling better about an hour after the first dose of medicine! I've been on this laptop so much yesterday and today because she hasn't wanted me to elave her side. She's been next to me on the couch dozing since yesterday morning until around lunch time today. I've also been doing alterations on the family room floor. I now have only Johnny's several pairs of pants to hem and a pair for a friend at church.
